USA Berkey Filters

So disspointed so far. We have amazing mountain spring well water but had to get new plumbing and I am chemical sensitive so could not use it. we bought this to use while the new pipes cleared all the toxic junk and plastic but the Berkey smells like tires and plastic and the taste was AWFUL like rubber and plastic. Also we chose the next day delivery which took 4 or 5 days. I soaked all the components twice to try to get rid of the smell and taste of plastic and rubber but no go. I only have the 2 filters so wonder if having the 4 and not the rubber stopper things would help but even the plastic end of the upgraded 'steel' water spout smells so strong and that is what the water comes out of. It was a pricey upgrade for this spout but feels flimsy, cheap and reeks of plastic. Was so excited to try this and wanted to use it at our retreat center but really really dissapointed. First 'bad' review I have ever left for something as usually I prefer to levve positive ones but it is that bad. To be fair I am really sensitive to toxins but literally made my mouth burn from the plastic/rubber taste and particles.

I can't believe how quickly my unit arrived. The directions on putting it together were extremely easy to follow and I had it up and running within 15 minutes. I use this travel Berkey in my motorhome and love that I have good tasting water wherever I travel. I also have a large unit in my home.

I really like our Big Berkey, 2.25 gal. We travel a lot and make our home in different places for a couple months at a time and in certain areas it is difficult to find refill stations for gallon jugs of drinking water so when we found the Berkey filtrations system we were so excited to try it. A friend of ours highly recommended it and after researching it I was convinced. It has helped simplify our daily life, not having to track down a water refill station or go to the store as often, and give some peace of mind knowing we have access to fresh water at any time. The taste is great (water should taste like nothing but still refreshing, which this accomplishes). We stayed in Chicago and filtered the city water and could smell the chlorine while filling the Berkey top tank. But when you fill your glass with the filtered water there is zero smell or taste. Just wonderful! We’re very happy with our purchase.

I ordered my berkey gravity system with the fluoride filters also! The fluoride filters leaked sentiment into the driking water! I checked it after a month of only filtering bottled water and the tank was full of a sandy chemical! I then ordered 4 replacement filters ,3 day delivery. I waited 8 days to were they told me it was delivered! I was home all day and nothing came! No they want me to run around to the post office to print a return table because of their lies and incompetence! Customer service is rude and arrogant! They basically just robbed me for 250 dollars! I'll never see again! Please unless you can afford to throw away money?! Buy another brand all berkey wants us the Initial sale so they can hold your feet to the fire for replacement filters!!! And the water doesn't taste all that great ither!! Way to expensive for the p.o.s that it is! Also the filters thread stripe very easily!! The whole system is garbage!!! Don't let a learning experience cost you 1000 dollars like it did me!! Best of luck! Be blessed!! NO BERKEY!

UPDATE: USA Berkey Filters' response to "do our best to resolve this" is a lie. They ignored me once more, sticking me with a leaking water filtration system that cost several hundred dollars. The faulty spigot started leaking 10 months after purchase, and it became so bad that I had to create a water collection system to prevent flooding with sound dampening to stop the drip, drip from waking me at night. The terrible customer service, though, is what led me to write this review. After running me through multiple emails with questions and asking me to send video footage, the warranty they offered was to ship it back at my cost, have them inspect it, then ship me a new spigot at my cost. Or I could buy it again. Then they went silent on me. My money, and more importantly, my time were wasted. I have not encountered poor customer service like this in the US. With all the options out there, I highly recommend shopping elsewhere. (The photos show the leakage. I have to empty out the measuring cup once or more daily with how much it drips.)
